Reflections on activity 1&2

Blog shopping!!! :D

Or rather E-shopping activity. haha.

I do love online shopping because firstly, I don't have to get out of the house and waste any energy to travel (I'm lazy :ppp).

Secondly, there are many products which people can put on their website so that we can choose, I mean obviously, BUT, there are some websites which provides more products, choices, availibility and exposure compared to a retail outlet store, whereby there are some products which we are only available from overseas. :D

Thirdly, we were given '500 bucks' to feel rich for a moment in our life.
Geez, better than nothing. :p

Just kidding, my third reason is that blog shopping allows us to search for a lot of online shopping websites and through that we get to discover a lot more shopping websites which in turn causes us to be calculative and cheapo because by the time we had enough of online shopping, we know which product to buy. We may even get the suppliers to sell us a certain quatity of their products at a cheap price and we can sell it at a higher price (hopefully a product which is copyrighted and very new, so people won't copy the idea).
And we get to earn money and learn some business tactics as well.

HOWEVER, there are sure to have some cons to it because there are cases whereby people who bought products online and got cheated of their money or you don't get to see the quality of the products before paying.
How I hope the $500 is real. :)

2. Why do you think there is a need for researchers to know the different purposes of websites? Explain using examples of websites you often visit or those which you have encountered while researching on your research topic.

It is crucial for researchers to know the different purposes of websites because they need the correct information to begin with and they can't just find any information from any websites without knowing whether their sources are true or reliable. Thus, they are called researchers for a reason... right? Their information MUST be the truth and the correct information so A LOT of research, studies and efforts are needed for them to do.

3. Choose an advocacy website. Compare this advocacy website with the shopping website you had used for your E-shopping websites by using THREE differences.

An advocacy website will be http://www.dredf.org/.
This website is 'The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund' which is founded in 1979. It is an independent organization which is led by people with disabilities or with children who are disabled. They survived mainly on donations from donaters or from the public.

They are unhappy with the government's inadequate ability to take care of the disabilities or other bad cases/discrimination that they decided to form an organization to support, help and protect themselves.

My E-shopping website is http://thecamerawise.com
This website is a online blog shop which sells mainly DSLR or cameras accessories. It is solely a business that is being lead by business people. Mostly importantly this isn't an organization.

4. Explain the most meaningful lesson you had learnt from Practical 1&2.

The most meaningful lesson which I'd learn from Practical 1 &2 is that I learn to think deeper in terms of researching for information. I was so used to the mundane reaction and lifestyle that when an assignment/work is thrown to me, the first website I would visit is Google. It awaken a part of me that there are actually other websites which provide true information and I don't have to always depend on Google to survive. (btw, not all information from google is correct)
I hope I won't turn back to my old habits of researching but think a little but more before I research.
